Description

Loose papers previously kept in MSS. 7630-7631 including pencil design for a headstone for William King M.D. (1786-1865), originally kept by John King in his diary at the date of his father's death (no. 1); the words to the song "The Irish Emigrant", whose music is in John King's diary (no. 5); and newspaper advertisements including two giving information to people returning from the East to the United Kingdom (nos. 10-11).

Arrangement

Papers from the two different diaries have not been kept apart as for many the volume and position in which they were kept appears to have been random; only the position of no. 1 has significance.
