This volume was received by the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in late 1996 via a friend of the author.

Biographical note

'Geoffrey York' is the pseudonym used for this document by a member of the Society of Friends who qualifed MB, BS in 1934, and obtained the MD in 1949. A general practitioner who believed that psychiatry was a vital part of general practice, he held the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and was a Fellow of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of General Practitioners. He was awarded the OBE.
