INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD This is a very important duty of a Public Health Department and much of the Sanitary Inspectors’ time is occupied in visiting slaughterhouses and premises where food is prepared or sold. POTTED AND PRESERVED MEAT The supervision of this class of business is important. Ready cooked and prepared foods are being increasingly used by the public and a close watch is kept on such premises. FOOD AND DRUCS ACT, 1938 Particulars are included in the Chief Sanitary Inspector’s Report. CHEMICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF FOOD These examinations are carried out by the County Analyst by arrangement with Kent County Council.
