About this work
Description
Cooking Book discovered in an Abbey in Gloucestershire. Supposed to have been written by a Gentleman's Housekeeper in the Year 1790 [date struck through]. The title as given above is found on the first leaf, written in a hand of the first half of the 19th cent. The date 1790 seems too late, and the earlier part of the MS. appears to be in a script of the first quarter of the 18th cent.

1 volume 45 ll. 4to. 181/2 x 15 cm. Unbound. Some leaves probably wanting at the end. Written by several hands, mostly on the rectos only.
