    Council; but such papers as are chosen for publication may after- wards be altered with the sanction of the Council—the original manuscripts being returned to the Society. 4. No paper referred to the consideration of the Council shall be published unless two-thirds of the Members present vote in its favour. 5. No member of the Council shall vote, or be present, when the propriety of publishing any of his own papers is discussed. 6. All unclaimed papers, not selected for publication, and the original manuscripts of those published, shall be deposited by the Secretary in the Library. 7. No request for printing the Anniversary Oration shall be valid, unless confirmed by the Council. CHAP. XXII. OF DONATIONS TO THE SOCIETY. 1. Every person who shall make any valuable present to the Society, shall receive its thanks, and have his name registered in the catalogue of Donors, with an account of his donation. 2. The thanks of the Society shall not be given for any present, the nature or composition of which is concealed ; nor for any pub- lication which is not recommended by the Librarian, or Library Committee, as worthy of the same; nor without the sanction of the Council. CHAP. XXIII. GENERAL LAWS. , 1. When the determination of the Society is required on a ques- tion, it shall be taken by ballot, if so demanded by any Fellow. 2. All questions, excepting those for which it is otherwise pro- vided, shall be determined by a majority of the Fellows present.
