Dauvet, Gabriel Nicolas (1757- )

Abrégé d'astronomie et de géographie. Illustrated by 10 pen-drawn folding diagrams and figures. On the first leaf 'Le Vicomte Dauvet', and this MS. may possibly be notes of lectures taken down at a military college by G. N. Dauvet-afterwards Marquis-who served as an officer in the French Cavalry, and was a Major in 1789. He served in anti-revolutionary forces in 1792, returned to France in 1814 and was given the honorary rank of 'Maréchal de Camp' in 1816.
