Around 450 000 people in the UK have epilepsy and one in twenty people have an epileptic seasure at some point in their lives. Dr. Mark Porter, with the help of studio guest Dr. Henry Smithson, GP and Chair of the Epilepsies Guidelines Group, look at how epilepsy affects people's lives and what we should do if someone we know begins to have an epileptic fit. We visit Great Ormond Street to find out how common epilepsy is in children and young people and look at the positive and negative effects of current drug treatments.
