About this work

Description

Labelled 'rushes' this short video is a sequence of different clips. The first one is of a black American man talking about poor corn on the cob crop in the field as he inspects the afflicted produce; it is bone dry and appears to be due to drought and disease. The next sequence is of a river in an unknown location; it is considerably reduced from its original size followed with footage of dried mud. The last sequence appears to be several sequences extrapolated from another film; an American narrator comments on the maternal feeding situation in India and the role of maternity clinics in fighting disease especially blindness.
