About this work

Description

This is a CT scan from a 5-year-old child with Macleod's syndrome (Swyer-James). The x-ray shows marked hypovascularization of the left lung when compared to the right. The left lung is also small and shows some bronchiectatic airway thickening and dilation, and the heart is in an asymmetric position. The right lung appears normal. The pattern is typical of that seen following viral pneumonia in the first three years of life. See record number W0048119 for a chest x-ray of the same child.
