Described by a previous owner as follows: "Albert Londe et Jean Martin Charcot (1858-1917). Étude de cas médical: paralysie pseudo-hypertrophiante. Vers 1882. 6 épreuves sur papier albuminé, séparées de leur montage d'origine en carton bleu (joint). Mention à l'encre sur le montage : ± M. Guedot. Salle Bouvier n°4 et ± Paralysie pseudo-hypertrophique. Format moyen : 13 x 20,5 cm. Montage : 34 x 44 cm. Signature on lower right-hand corner of image: Ch. I...?"

Guedot, is shown in four different positions with a copy of a drawing showing a young man in three similar positions. Charcot and Londe worked together on experiments which would help elucidate the pathology of human movement, including tremors, epilepsy and hysteria. These images of sequential movement reflect Londe's interest in motion photography which he later studied with Paul Richer, a colleague of Etienne Marey".
