    Committee proceeded to obtain tenders and contracts. Delays and difficulties occurred connected with the disorganization of the building trade this year, which made it impossible for any builder to be sure of men or prices, and the contract has been made on terms which will somewhat exceed the grant of £800 made by the Court. Since the Midsummer Sessions at which an order was made for an addition of 120 beds on the female side, half of them to be in single rooms, the Committee have been engaged at various meetings in considering the necessary plans, which have during December been before the Commissioners in Lunacy, who have suggested alterations, which have, for the most part been approved of by the Committee. The plans have been amended accordingly, and will be laid by the Commissioners in Lunacy, before the Secretary of State for the Home Department, and the Committee request the assent of the Court to the plans, contingent on his assent being obtained. The alterations and additions will accommodate 120 patients, 58 in single rooms, and 62 in dormitories. The estimated cost is ... ... ... ... ... £13,310.
