Heart Haiku is a series of collaborative zines of patient-produced short-form poetry. Following a call for contributions on experiences of heart disease through the format of haiku, Laura Donald asked: "Maybe your only scars are tiny needle marks from blood tests, or maybe you are a fully certified member of the "zipper club" – whatever your thoughts about heart-related surgery and/or scars, love them or hate them, we want to hear about it." This zine was created digitially by the author, and the PDF was printed by Wellcome for inclusion in the collection.
"Hearty Tales was launched in December 2019 as a space to share my [Laura Donald] research into written representations of chronic heart disease, as well as my own experiences of living with heart failure. I'm a first-year PhD student at the University of Glasgow, researching written representations of chronic heart disease from 1980 to the present.
