    Medicinal Compound. LOWTHER’S SPECIFICATION. TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, William Lowther, of Great Kerby Street, in the Parish of Saint Andrew’s, Holbom, in the City of London, Gentleman, send greeting. WHEREAS His most Excellent Majesty King George the Second, by His * 5 Letters Patent under the Great Seal of Great Britain, bearing date the Fourth day of June, in the twenty-eighth year of His said Majesty’s reign, did give and grant to me, the said William Lowther, His special licence, full power, sole priviledge and authority, that I, the said William Lowther, my executors, administrators, and assigns, should and lawfully might, during the term of 10 years therein expressed, use, exercise, and vend, throughout that part of His said Majesty’s Kingdom of Great Britain called England, the Dominion of Wales, and Town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, my “New Invented Powders, called Anti-epileptic Powders, which are an effectual Remedy for Appoplexies, Epilepsys, Convulsions, Hystereks, Vapours, Paralaticks, Legarthys, Trem- 15 blings, Faintings, Swimmings in the Head, Pains in the Stomach, Worms, Weakness in the Nerves, Retention of Urine, Want of Appetite, Lowness op Spirits, Strengthens the Memory, Sweetens and Thins the Blood, and may be TAKEN WITH THE UTMOST SAFETY AT ALL TlMES BY PERSONS OF EITHER SEX, AND Young Children may take it within the Month in which said recited Letters 20 Patent there is contained a proviso, obliging me, the said William Lowther, by writing under my hand and seal, to cause a particular description of the nature of the said Invention to be inrolled in His Majesty’s High Court of Chancery within four calendar months after the date of the said recited Letters Patent, as in and by the same, relation being thereunto had, may more at large appear.
