Looking towards the west. The map of the world on the wall west of the entrance was an existing fixture, subsequently removed. The glazed screen on the west wall was to be replaced by a brightly coloured tapestry designed by Patrick Caulfield, but the tapestry was not commissioned, and the space was filled with a back-lit transparency reproducing a cut-away drawing of the building
