About this work

Description

** The original item is too fragile to be produced. Please order the microfiche version quoting the reference AMS/MF/200 **

Letterbook consisting of letters sent by the head office of Burroughs Wellcome & Co, Snow Hill, to Henry Wellcome whilst he was on holiday, December 1905 - April 1907.

The letters contained in this volume date from the same period as the other Burroughs Wellcome & Co outgoing correspondence in WF/E/03/01/18, WF/E/03/01/19, WF/E/03/01/20 and WF/E/03/01/21. As such, the correspondence here often overlaps with those volumes.

The Letterbook contains correspondence on all aspects of Wellcome's business and interests in this period.

Letters concerning the business of Burroughs Wellcome & Co (BW&Co) include a good deal of information on the work of the company's travelling representatives, both at home and abroad. Also included is correspondence concerning products produced by BW&Co, and displays and exhibits showcasing the Wellcome business and Wellcome funded research.

The Letterbook contains details on the work of the Wellcome Physiological Research Laboratories, the Wellcome Chemical Research Laboratories and the Wellcome Tropical Research Laboratories. It also includes information on research work and collecting activities carried out for Wellcome's proposed Historical Medical Exhibition.
