Sanitary paper in packets : an indispensable household necessity ... "Purolette" toilet paper ... thin and tough / John Miller Ltd.

A single sheet of (hard) toilet paper from a pack of loose, single sheets, probably dating from about the 1890s. The paper was manufactured by John Miller, Ltd., manufacturing stationers, 116 Renfield Street, Glasgow and the text has been printed in green. This may have been a sample sent out to prospective retailers, hence the printing on the paper. It is "reference no. 5132". We also have examples of Miller's "Silkine", "Excelsior" and "Globus" brands of toilet paper (EPH471:37, EPH471:38, EPH471:40).
