The average number of cases notified during the last 10 years is 23 I would like here to point out the value of Diphtheria Antitoxin, both in the treatment of the disease and as a prophylactic. It often happens that medical men are unable to administer this remedy owing to the poverty of their patients, and many Corporations now gratuitously provide medical men with Antitoxin for use in such cases. Apart from curative benefits the timely administration of the Antitoxin to all the members of a family where a case of Diphtheria has occurred will often protect them from the disease. ENTERIC FEVER. 30 cases of Enteric or Typhoid Fever were notified during the year. The- attack rate, is .7 per 1,000 living, and the case mortality (8 deaths) is 26.6 per cent. The average number of cases notified during the past ten years is 48. The monthly distribution is as follows :—- J anuary February March April May J une 4 cases.
