    (Blasoow 'iriniversit^ Court, . CLINICAL TEACHING. On February 25, 1909, the University Court directed that the followinfj Memorandum (A) should be communicated to the Senate for its consideration. A. The University Court have had under consideration certain com- munications relating- to the extension of Clinical Teaching, in connexion with the University School of Medicine, from the Alanagers of the Royal Infirmary, the Governors of St Mungo’s College, the Managers of the Western Infirmary, the Carnegie Trustees, and others. These communications were referred to a Committee of the Court, in order that by conference with the repre- sentatives of the bodies in question it might be ascertained what definite jiroposals on the subject they desired to make. On 26th October, 1908, the Court received an interim Report from the Committee in which the following proposals were sub- mitted : I. That the Professorship of Clinical Medicine, and at the next vacancy the Professorship of Clinical Surgery, be transferred from the Western Infirmary to the Royal Infirmary. II. That in consideration of the stipend of each of these Chairs being increased to (say) ;£'5oo a year, by means of funds procured by the Royal Infirmary, St Mungo’s College, and others co-operating with them, the Professors be in future required to give systematic as well as clinical instruction at the Royal Infirmary. III. That the election to these Chairs be made by a Board of Curators including representatives of the Court and of the Royal Infirmary, on the analogy of the existing Board for the Chair of Pathology at the Western Infirmarv. IV. Thqt a Committee of Selection be appointed at the Royal Infirmary, and a similar Committee at the Western In- firmary, each including representatives of the University Court, which shall be empowered to nominate any of the respective Physicians and Surgeons, in charge of clinical
