Prostate cancer cells treated with nano sized drug carriers

A multi-cellular prostate tumour spheroid (cluster of cells) treated with nanomedicines carrying the anticancer drug doxorubicin. Doxorubicin (blue) is taken up deep inside the spheroid as a result of its encapsulation inside the “nanomedicine”. Diameter of the spheroid is approximately 250 micrometers.
