Medical prescriptions include "For nervous depression of spirits", two for the treatment of cholera, instruction on "Application of leeches"

A number of entries relating to decorative arts, "To make flowers blow at Christmas", "For Transparencies", "To take the impression of a butterfly in all its colours"varnishes, inks, etc.

Doodles of heads on stained pages towards the end.

1 volume Small 4to, 66pp. & 2pp. index, some pp. loosely inserted, numerous blank pages reverse entries, slightly browned, some later ink doodles on 1 page, original vellum-backed boards, rubbed and soiled, covers slightly stained.
