About this work

Description

The woman on the left tugs the man towards a brothel. The door of the brothel has a name plate "Mrs Midnight". On the wall is an advertisement for "Leak's justly famous pills", i.e. Leake's pills, a remedy for skin complaints including those of venereal origin. The woman on the right tugs him towards a church
