This volume was begun before the Retreat was opened, and first accounts are of contributors to the fund to build the Retreat; also included are accounts for builders and contractors, furnishing etc. Useful detail on the building and stocking of the Retreat is included. After 1796 there are 'House Expenses' (provisions etc), and named patients' accounts Volume has debit and credit sides for each account on facing pages First page and cover of volume are missing
