About this work
Description
If the event was in Bonn, the river is presumably the Rhine. "Palatia sei's Panier" should be the motto of a student organization in the Palatinate, but Bonn appears never to have been in Rheinland-Pfalz. The organization and the individual students remain to be identified

Lettering note
The date is indistinct and may be 1831 or 1851. Lettering in pencil on the impression catalogued identifies the sitters indistinctly: the two figures seated in the centre are named as A. Noack and W. von Normann. A first attempt (probably mostly incorrect) at interpreting the other names: 1. Czwallina. 2. Fischer (?). 3. v. Ledebur. 4. Hilt. 5. Heyden. 6. Stockhausen. 7. Schulz. 8. Graeff. 9. Weiss. 10. Sartorius (?). (xx) x H. Keller. 12. Teichers. 13. Nucker (?). 14. Hiegemann. 15. Westermann. 16. Steiner (?). 17. Wirte (?). 18. Petersen. 19. Hartmann (?). 20. Poll (?). 21 Plessing. 22. Ryll. 23. Lucke (Sante). 24. Brennsfeldt (?). (25. Cora). Some of the names are followed by the letter x, or by other sigla
