About this work

Description

A single enteropathogenic E. coli in the human small intestine appears as a tiny red and green speck. The intestinal columnar epithelial cells extend from the blue luminal surface to the bottom of the picture and beyond. The large red ovals are the nuclei of epithelial cells. This highlights the difference in size between bacteria and eukaryotic cells.
