    9 INSURANCE OF INFANTS. Certificates under the Friendly Societies Acts were issued in respect, of 596 children under the age of 5 years, and 70 in respect of those between 5 and 10, 52 per cent of the children dying at these ages being insured. MORTALITY AT SCHOOL AGE At the age of 5 to 15 years, which is approximately the school period of life, there were 109 deaths, being equal to an annual rate of 3.7 per 1.000 of those estimated to be living at that age. MORTALITY AT ADOLESCENCE Between the ages of 15 and 25 years, 85 deaths were recorded, the rate of mortality lining 3.8 per 1,000. MORTALITY AT MATURITY. Between the ages of 25 and 65 years there were 740 deaths, corresponding to a death-rate of 13.2. MORTALITY AT DECLINE. At the age of 65 years and upwards, 357 persons died, the death rate at this age period being 83.4. DISTRIBUTION OF DEATHS.
