    With regard to the subject itself, scarcely can a more important one engage the attention of the Sur- geon. To be the instrument of prolonging life, under such untoward circumstances, is delightful indeed; and when not so favoured, to be able to minister some- what to the patient resignation of the survivors, by the assurance that the best assistance of art has been afforded, is no small satisfaction.
