Description

Lectures on Midwifery. Letter of recommendation relating to Timothy Watkins, by John Bolding of Ampthill, Bedfordshire, pasted inside a copy of Thomas Youngs lectures on midwifery. Notes probably taken down by Timothy Watkins when a student. Pasted down on to the inside of the upper cover is a letter dated Dec. 26th, 1786, Ampthill in Bedfordshire, written by John Bolding, and also signed by Laurence Humberston, to certify 'that Mr. Timothy Watkins has served for five years and three months as a Journeyman Apothecary Surgeon, and has practised Midwifery, and ... has discharged the several duties of this situation to our satisfaction.' Produced in Edinburgh.
