About this work

Description

The central picture shows an industrial landscape of factories and gas-holders, arising from which like a genie is a green figure presumably personifying the diseases that arise from industry. Facing him is a healthy man, presumably representing the health that is said to come from the use of Morris Evans' products, three of which are shown: (left) Morris Evans' Consumption, Bronchitis & Asthma Capsules; (centre) Morris Evans' Household Oil for Rheumatism, Lumbago, Neuritis, Muscular pains, Sprains etc.; (right) Morris Evans' Pearls for Constipation, Biliousness, Kidney & Liver Complaints. On each product the location of the manufacturer is given as Festiniog, North Wales
