About this work

Description

Postcard showing bearded lady, Hede. She (assuming it was a woman and not a man with long hair in a dress) is wearing a dark dress, heart-shaped locket and has a ribbon in her hair. It was posted in Munich in October 1916. The card would probably have been sold as a souvenir at places where she was exhibited as part of a circus, freak or variety show.
