Description

The first item on the programme is about latest research into the conservation of paintings. White specks are appearing on the surface of some of the masterpieces in the National Gallery in London. Quentin Cooper meets conservators and researchers at the gallery who are working on this problem. The second item on the programme is about how we remember smells and how the memory of smells conjures up images and recollections in our minds. Quentin Cooper speaks to Dr. Jay Gottfried, a researcher at Wellcome Department of Imaging Neuroscience and Professor Neil Burgess from the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University college London about the latest neurological research into our olfactory cortex.
