This small collection of short papers on surgical subjects was presented to the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine in 1933 by Mr Cooke's executors. In October 1980 it was transferred to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre.

It has not been possible to date these papers. The old Western Manuscripts Index card dates the papers at c.1925 and gives the title of GC/9/9. The source for this information is not apparent. It would appear from the Accessions Register that the papers were originally received with a number of Mr Cooke's published papers which were not retained with them and have not been located.
