About this work

Description

A photomicrograph of a stained section through the pancreas of a patient suffering from focal pancreatitis, localised regions of inflammation. In this section there are two regions of inflammation, but the rest of the pancreas is normal. However, the inflammation may spread to other areas. It is a common condition in patients with diabetes, and adversely affects islet function.
