After a painting catalogued by C. Hofstede de Groot (HdG 28) in connexion with Brouwer, but Scholz, loc. cit., regards Brouwer's authorship of this and other prints in the same series as hardly possible, as both the figure-types and the composition are to distant from his style. The etching has been attributed to Carel Allard, but his name appears on one state of this print as the publisher only: there is no etcher's name
