About this work

Description

Letter from Harriet Butler regarding enclosed letters received by Harriet from her cousin Morris Beaufort.

Beaufort writes regarding Galton's article on the International Health Exhibition, which appeared in the Journal of the Anthropological Institute (see GALTON/2/4/18/3/4), and suggests that Galton might want to test wrist strength at the Laboratory. Beaufort's second letter discusses the impact of wrist strength on sports such as fencing and sword fighting.

Also enclosed is a note from Frances Ann Adele Galton, informing Galton that she can hear the most distant whistle in the Laboratory tests, but not the penultimate one.
