About this work

Description

Visual acuity test This image shows health workers testing a woman's visual acuity. They are outside a health clinic in Tanzania. The tests were carried out while a visiting team of trichiasis surgeons were operating in the health centre. Testing vision is part of the assessment procedure to identify candidates for trichiasis surgery. Declining vision is an indication of damage caused to the cornea by trachoma.
