About this work

Description

In Orlando innamorato and Orlando furioso, the helmet of the Moorish king Mambrino makes the wearer of it invulnerable. Don Quixote in his delusions identifies the helmet in a shaving bowl which a barber uses to protect his head from the rain. There are black clouds overhead. In the right background Sancho Panza watches in consternation
