About this work

Description

A film which seeks to address the stigma of mental health via two related scenes. The film tries to realistically portray how a family cope with their feelings relating to the return of a member of their family who has just been released from a mental hospital. Family members (there are two teenage children, a boy and a girl) are palpably tense as they await his arrival. The teenage boy goes fishing with his uncle but their communication is awkward. The teenage boy encounters a group of his friends en route to the pub; they talk about all the 'mad' people they know. This gives the boy an opportunity to voice his concerns about his uncle and his perceived strange behaviour. The uncle happens to hear this.
