About this work
Description
Written throughout in a late Elizabethan Secretary hand within red rules. The receipts are in English, and arranged in alphabetical order of diseases or parts affected. On p. 16 is `A dyett for a burning argue made by the Queens Master Physitians', which seems to show that this MS. was written during Queen Elizabeth's reign-i.e. before 1603.

1 volume 6 bl. ll. + 8 ll. + 236 pp. + 6 bl. ll. folio. 291/2 x 19 cm. Original gilt-stamped limp vellum binding, with 4 green silk ties (defective). Upper corner of fifth (blank) preliminary leaf torn away.
