S.) in the fifty-first year of the independence of the United States of America, A. D. 1826, William P. Dewees, M. D. of the said district, hath deposited in this office the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as Author, in the words following, to wit: A Treatise on the Physical and Medical Treatment of Children. By Wil* liam P. Dewees, M. D. Adjunct Professor of Midwifery in the University of Pennsylvania; Member of the American Philosophical Society, and of the Phi- ladelphia Medical Society? Lecturer on Midwifery, &c. Second Edition, with Corrections, 8cc. In conformity to the act of the Congress of the United States, entituled, An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and also to the act, entitled, An act supplementary to an act, entitled, ' An act for the encouragement of learning, by seeming the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such co- pies during the times therein mentioned,' and extending the benefits there- of to the arts of designing, engraving, and etching historical and other prints.
