Description

Photograph of a diary open on 3rd and 4th January, from the Discovery Expedition to the Antarctic regions (officially called the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904). The diary was probably written by Sir Ernest Shackleton (1874-1922). The item was part of a polar exhibition held in the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum's central hall in July 1930 but is not held by Wellcome Collection.
