![[40 ] moft conftant Gonorrhoea, for a Series of Years, and ftili continues otherwife heal¬ thy, florid and gay. And fuch kind of Inliances, doubtlels, are not fo rare, but others have often met with them as well as my felf. Now I only ask, Whether it is probable that a Man Ihou’d not only bear up fo long under fuch a conllant Train of Infections, but appear freih, active and vigorous all the time, without the Affiftance of force very powerful Re¬ medy of a Tendency contrary to that of the Diftemper ? But in this Cafe nothing can pretend to that Character but Wine. I will farther add, that when the Infe¬ ction is become universal; when it is fo interwoven with the Conftitution, that there remain no Hopes of a Cure, even then I fay our grand Cordial will take Place; even then enable the tainted Juices to refill a farther degree of Corruption, and preferve the Bones from Rottennefs. And herein the fuperior Excellence of Wine is manifeft above all other Reme¬ dies whatsoever, that ’tis applicable and advantageous w'here the relt will fail us ; and not only eale Pain and procure Sleep, but render the Patient infenfible of his Difeafe.
