![1 MEDICAL REPOET. \ The daily number of Patients resident in the Asylum during the year 1860, varied from three hundred and five to three hundred and seventeen, and averaged three hundred and eight. The number of new Patients admitted has been but seventy-two ; regarding whom the only non-medical facts of interest are, that they are almost entirely cases belonging to the Town and County of Aberdeen—that they constitute the smallest total of admissions that has been recorded for four years—and that a larger propor¬ tion than in any preceding Eeport consists of Private Cases. A great many applications were rejected on account of the crowded state of the Hospital at the time; but it is believed that a large majority of these were ultimately admitted, and that, at least, a third of the number refused were not persons belonging to the district for whose wants the Establishment is under¬ stood to ]3rovide.
