About this work

Description

The third in a four-part series of autopsies performed by Gunther Von Hagens and recorded at the Institute for Plastination in Heidelberg, Germany, in front of an international audience of body donors and anatomy students. The series aims to look at the processes of disease and death on the body, and this part focuses on poison, looking at how the failure of our liver, kidneys or bladder can kill us. Von Hagens dissects the body of a woman who died of kidney failure while Professor John Lee, Pathologist at Rotherham General Hospital & Hull York Medical School, provides a more medically detailed account of the process.
