    [ * 3 Description of the Plant. The plant from which this oil is extrafled is the ricinus americanus major, caide viref- cente H. R. P. the a Nhambu guacu of Fifoi and Sir Hans Sloane’s b Ricinus americanus fruftii racemofo hifpido. The French in the iflands call it the greater palma chrijii with green Jialks. c Monf du Tertre and d Fere U Abbat mention it under that name in their defcription of the French Caribbee iflands. '• ; , • i • There are four or five forts of Ricinus, that grow in different parts of Africa and America, which have much the fame virtues 5 their feeds are frequently fent into England inter¬ mixed with each other. There are two forts that grow in the warm parts of Europe, and are to be met with in Spain and the ifland of Crete.
