Description
A detailed clinical study of yaws, formerly one of the most widespread and severely disfiguring of all tropical diseases, as seen in the former British Uganda Protectorate on the eve of World War II. Illustrates the primary, secondary and tertiary stages of the disease in both adults and children in vivid and sometimes horrific detail with. Medium shots of distressed children with diseased genitalia and other secondary lesions. After approximately 10 minutes another clinical film with adults of different racial background (Asian/European) present various physical symptoms such as lesions and muscle weakness from leprosy. Treatment with Sulphetrone is described via an intertitle - treatment is for 8 months with daily doses.
