Cooke's School of Anatomy (London School of Anatomy) had been founded in 1870 by Thomas Cooke FRCS (1841-1899), and was located on the corner of Handel Street (then called Henrietta Street) and Henrietta Mews, off Brunswick Square (Morton, op. cit.)
