Polio can cripple -- even the fittest. It's now [now inserted] available free to all up to the age of 26 [26 crossed out and 40 substituted]. Ask your local health department, clinic or family doctor for details. ... Prepared by the Central Office of Information.
In the lettering, a change of policy is indicated by inserting "now" with a caret sign, and having "26" crossed out and replaced by "40", both in black cursive scripts amending white majuscules

Notes
Ministry of Health files at The National Archives (TNA) MH 55/2212 discuss the poster and indicate it was sent to the designers in December 1959. A further set of prints was ordered in February 1960.
