Description

The building shown in the foreground of the lower section of the print depicts a house belonging to the famous Meiji business magnate and economic moderniser, Shibusawa Eiichi (1840/1-1931) The First National Bank (which Shibusawa helped to form), shown in the background, provides an example of the early mixed style of architecture.
