    there be coexisting valvular lesions or not (Dr. Bezly Thorne). The Nauheim waters for drinking are very little used : a very small space in the garden is given to them. They are said to be similar to Kissengen, but are utterly inferior to the renowned Rakoczi at Kis- sengen. The subject of cardiac pathology has be- come much more prominent and important of late years because of the increase of heart disease, due to the following causes :— I. The strain suddenly put upon the heart by the hurrying to catch trains, rushing upstairs and along platforms, with the deathlike struggle to get in before the train starts.
