Description

A licence and commission to the bachiller Pedro Perez, vecino of Guadalajara, which also requires those practising medicine in the city to present their qualifications to the local authorities.

Produced in Mexico.

An incomplete and unsigned copy on papel sellado originally for 1710-11 (re-stamped for 1714-15), and dated 22 November 1714 in the text. Issued by the Protomedicato under the names of Juan de Brizuela [1645-1722], Catedrático proprietario de prima de medicina, Juan Joseph de Brizuela, Catedrático proprietario de vísperas de medicina, and Marcos Joseph Salgado [1671-1740], Catedrático de método.

Biographical note

The recipient may have been the Pedro Pérez de Vergara who was awarded his bacchalaureate by the University of Mexico in 1702 [see Fernández de Recas (1960), p. 52].
